| Andrus does not use automated load planning to direct automated dispatch
software. What this means to a driver, is that you get more miles and better
routing based on your performance and your punctuality. What this means
to a customer is that your "critical load" will be dispatched
by a live person who knows his or her drivers ability to deliver your load
on time with out any problems. Andrus Transportation values their drivers
who are on time and work hard so they don't use this software even if it
might cut administration costs. |

Many trucking companies are ether currently using or are developing this software to save in administration costs. The problem with the software is that if three trucks are in a city waiting for a load, the computer often sends a "Critical Load" to the wrong driver. The computer has no way of knowing which driver is a Top Runner with a perfect on time record or if that person is chronically late. The result for the Client is often a late or no show delivery. The disadvantage to the driver in that situation often results in the bad driver getting a great high mile load and the good driver who works hard for their company getting a short load and a reduced pay check that week. It is not fair to punish drivers for being good at what they do..

| Another great part of working for Andrus is on more than one occasion you can
find Jim, Bill or Jimmy Andrus in the yard talking to drivers about any concerns
or problems they may be having with their job or personal life. This is a huge
advantage for us because issues get solved by the person at top and quickly. |

Almost all of the top 20 companies have implemented strict guidelines as
to who can handle different concerns a driver or client may have. This
means that several people are required to solve one problem. There
are occasions where administration personal are working on the problem,
but do not have the authority to make decisions on an issue. The result
is a series of conversations and meetings within the company creating long
wait times for the person in need.

There are a minimal amount of companies in this industry that respect family
values and the importance of seeing your family more than Andrus Transportation.
In fact, you would be hard pressed to find a company that is more committed
to this idea than Andrus. Jim and Mary Andrus have taken a strong position
with regards to home time and the idea that family is an important aspect
of a drivers well being. A satisfied driver benefits both the company and
their clients.

One important condition a driver considers when choosing a company is home
time. There are many companies who say they have strong feelings for a
drivers well being and family values, but I can personally say, after an
association with over 14 companies in the last fifteen years that is not
entirely true. Many of these companies are well known and advertise a good
home time policy. The problem is that they do get you home but it costs
you an entire weeks pay to see your family.
